The International Human Solidarity Day was instituted by the United Nations to carry out specific functions which include celebrating the unity that exists in human diversity, creating awareness about commitments of leaders and governments to international agreements. It is a day especially created to elaborate on the importance of solidarity.
The United Nations since the inception of the organization has thrived on the concept of solidarity; which is a notion that basically promotes unity and harmony among the member states. Solidarity among the member states of the United Nations has helped them to work towards maintaining international peace and security.
Global solidarity is needed at this time to help people in the fight for respect for human rights, to combat poverty and fight diseases. This is the reason; the international Human Solidarity Day encourages action for new initiatives for poverty eradication and the discussion for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Peace and Conflict Resolution Resource Centre (PEACrEc) on this International Human Solidarity Day uses this opportunity to raise awareness for cooperation and solidarity among world leaders and governments to fight against insecurity in nations with all their strengths. We strongly uphold that secured and peaceful societies will enhance the achievements of the Sustainable Developments Goals.
