New Dawn in Delta State as PEACrEc establishes MILPOPPROF Chapter

Peace and Conflict Resolution Resource Centre has brought a new dawn in Delta State amongst the Security agencies as the Military, Police and Paramilitary Public Relations Officers Forum Delta State chapter was established on the 27th of February 2020.

The auspicious event was hosted by the Commissioner of Police Delta State Command, CP Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa at the Police Officers Mess, Okwe, Delta State.  The event brought together Public Relations Officers from the various security agencies in the state.

Dignitaries from different sectors were in attendance at the event that marked the launching of Delta State MILPOPPROF chapter. The Commissioner of Police was represented by Deputy Commissioner of Police DCP Alhassan Aminu, also in attendance was the Special Adviser to Delta State Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Chief Edwin Uzor and the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Security, Chief I.  Onyesom.

The Chairman of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Delta State chapter, Chief Patrick Ukah who is also the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Delta State was represented at the event by the State Vice-Chairman in the person of Mr Godfrey Osakwe who delivered a lecture to the attendees on the topic: “Relevance of PR in National Security and Peace Building”. Mr Osakwe made it clear in his lecture that Public Relations is needed to excel in every business.

Speaking on behalf of the Police Commissioner at the launching, DCP Alhassan Aminu said that the establishment of MILPOPPROF in Delta State will help to abolish castigation among security agencies and will encourage a cordial relationship among all the agencies. He went further to appreciate PEACrEc for birthing the initiative of creating MILPOPPROF.
