World Health Organization and other global partners have chosen the 31st of May annually to create awareness on the health risks and dangers attached to the consumption of Tobacco.



The World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is an annual campaign that sensitizes people against the use of Tobacco in all forms; the day is used to educate the public about the deadly effects of Tobacco usage.


The year 2019 theme for the World No Tobacco Day is focused on "Tobacco and lung health." The campaign is to inform people about the negative impact of Tobacco on the health of the lungs which include chronic respiratory diseases and even cancer.


 This year’s World No Tobacco Day is to advocate for effective policies to be made against the use and consumption of Tobacco, the campaign is a call to action for all stakeholders from various sectors to arise in the struggle for Tobacco Control.


Peace and Conflict Resolution Resource Centre (PEACrEc) strongly believes that the society will be a better place, safe and peaceful if there are good health and well-being of the people; This is why we join the World Health Organization (WHO) in the fight for Tobacco Control on this World No Tobacco Day.
